There are a handful of meaningful events happening this week. Maine People’s Alliance is having a social event over at FAM tomorrow night. Come out and meet other activists in the area, learn more about MPA, and new ways to get involved. Now is also a great time to join the Grahampaign with a new volunteer orientation meeting tonight. Speaking of ways to get involved – Activate Maine is looking for volunteers and Maine People’s Alliance is hiring canvassers in Portland and Bangor and are looking for students for their internship program. Both can be found here. Last but definitely not least, Food AND Medicine is looking for volunteers to help with their food programs. Check out their website or email them at FAM@foodandmedicine.org. FAM recently endorsed Troy Jackson for governor and Graham Platner for Senate.
Growing our community and network is one of, if not the most, important things we can be doing right now. Regardless of who wins in the upcoming elections, real change happens locally – and with Team Trump at the wheel, it is liable to get worse before it gets better.

Keeping Up With the Chaos
Just yesterday, El Presidente Trump claimed that he called off a new attack on Iran. If you thought it was TACO Monday, joke’s on you! It’s actually TACO Tuesday because just a short while ago, he said he is considering another strike on Iran. Here’s hoping it’s just another effort to manipulate the stock market and he isn’t actually going to pull the trigger (HA, like this guy actually does anything himself).
“I hope that we don’t have to do the war. But we may have to give them another big hit,” Trump told reporters on Tuesday. “I’m not sure yet. You’ll know very soon.”
This Mofo feeds us information like we’re on a cliff-hanger ending of a terrible Daily Wire TV show. Given what we know of the conman, it wouldn’t surprise me if he is simply trying to divert the spotlight from one of his most brazen acts of corruption yet.
Yesterday, Trump’s lawyers dropped the $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS, which is great news – right… right? Wrong. The Department of Justice Corruption announced a $1.776 (how gross) billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund” as part of a settlement agreement after dropping the suit. The order was signed by El Presidente’s own mafia consigliere, acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, claiming to “provide a systematic process to hear and redress claims of others who suffered weaponization and lawfare.“
What a load of bullshit. This is an act so corrupt that the Treasury Department’s own General Counsel Brian Morrissey resigned after the news. Senator Elizabeth Warren said it well, “an insane level of corruption – even for Trump.” As if that wasn’t already bad enough, the fund includes a massive disclaimer to preemptively dodge future legal issues:
“no liability whatsoever for the protection or safeguarding of those funds, regardless of bank failure, fraudulent transfers, or any other fraud or misuse.”
This allows the Trump regime to steal money from each and every single one of us and effectively redistribute our money to anyone who thinks they were wrongly targeted by the Biden administration. It’s like if Robin Hood decided to break into the hovels of peasants, steal everything, and bring it back to the sheriff instead. That sounds an awful lot like socialism for seditionists to me. House Democrats have filed an amicus brief arguing that this seeks to “undermine the Constitution”.
“Should this lawsuit achieve Plaintiffs’ desired ends, it would result in the improper and unconstitutional transfer of taxpayer dollars into the pockets of the President, his family, and his allies,” the Democrats write.
Congressional Democrats have brought in AG Todd Blanche to testify, which is still ongoing as I write this.
This type of extreme corruption doesn’t happen in a vacuum. This is supported by the entire Republican apparatus – fully enabled by the Epstein Class of billionaires and dark money. It is more important than ever that we get involved in any capacity we can. We MUST vote to ensure the right candidates are elected to help fix this quagmire, but – voting is no longer enough. We need all hands on deck. Let’s get out and volunteer as much as possible – be it with the IB-endorsed candidates, or any number of the organizations in our area.

‘Hate has no home here’: Protesters rally against Vance regarding fraud press conference in Bangor
Protesters gathered outside General Aviation at the Bangor International Airport to rally against Vice President JD Vance regarding his arrival to Maine for a press conference on alleged fraud across the state.
“I think that it’s really important that there’s a very visible and audible opposition to what’s happening in the country right now,” said Rebecca Hartwell, who came from Cornish to peace keep at the event.

Maine Democrats split over taxing 2nd homes in sharp debate exchange
Maine’s five Democratic gubernatorial candidates debated taxes, housing and the limits of bold promises Wednesday, with the sharpest exchange coming over a proposal to impose higher property taxes on out-of-state second-home owners.
The dispute offered a rare glimpse of friction in a Democratic field that has been notably collegial. For most of the debate, the five candidates agreed on raising the minimum wage, banning cellphones in classrooms and standing up to President Donald Trump’s administration against healthcare cuts.

Bangor bans storing belongings on sidewalk amid homelessness debate
Bangor city councilors unanimously passed an ordinance Monday night banning the storage of belongings on sidewalks amid rising concern around homeless residents gathering near the public library.
Councilors made their decision after more than an hour of public comments about the city’s homelessness crisis in a room packed with both supporters and critics of the ordinance.
