Hi Folks,
Good morning everyone it’s another Tesla Tuesday!
A lot of good ideas from Indivisible today; I have attached their whole email below:
Call our Congressional Delegation and demand the release of the Epstein files. Indivisible has an “Epstein Tool Kit” to help fan the flames of this “crisis” for our corrupt administration. (Details Below)
Consider joining Indivisible’s One Million Rising Effort by taking their trainings (3) about an hour each, and inviting a group of like-minded friends to discuss what can be done in this moment to build a mass movement.
Trump is pulling out all the stops and we need to match and exceed his momentum.
Pressure our Congressional Delegation to end the humanitarian crisis and war in Gaza. A joint resolution of disapproval to block the sale of offensive weapons to Israel has been introduced in the house.
Consider watching “Solidarity and Response” at two part training on showing up for immigrant communities, go here to sign up. First training tonight at 8 pm.
TODAY’S ACTION (s)
- Call our delegation and demand the release of the Epstein files: Check out Indivisible’s Epstein Toolkit to help you with your calls and rallying friends. More details also at 5calls.org .
- Join the One Million Rising Effort: The final training will be on August 13th, but between now and then you can watch the first two. Go here to get connected.
- Call the Maine Delegation to request an individual meeting or take part in a Town Hall: Congress is on recess during August. This is a good time to meet with our representatives, or their staff to push for the issues we are most concerned about. Gather 5-6 friends and make a date to talk to Collins, King, Golden, or Pingree. More details at 5calls.org.
- Call our delegation to demand the end of the war in Gaza: The progressive caucus in the house has put in a bill calling for the end of the US supplying specific offensive weapons to the Israeli army. Support this bill and for more general information on this effort go to 5calls.org. Indivisible has suggestions on this as well.
- Start planning on mass actions for this coming Labor Day: Groups around Maine and the nation are calling for Mass Action on Labor Day – Monday, September 1st. Set this date aside in your calendar and connect with an action going on near you.
Statewide Actions This Week:
- If you know young people who are politically motivated in this moment: Suggest that they join the virtual “Summer of Change” Education Series. This series will feature weekly sessions exploring various topics, skills, and speakers aimed at enhancing skills and nurturing leadership among young changemakers. First meeting is TONIGHT at 6 pm go here to join by zoom!
- Stand Up for Palestinan Rights: For events going on around the state in support of the Palestinian people go to Maine Voices for Palestinian Rights here.
- If you know your Maine Representative or Senator is supportive of making ICE accountable in Maine, ask them to join with Representative Cassie Julia to put in a bill to ensure proper identification of ICE agents acting in Maine. Lawmakers in California have introduced legislation requiring the identity and affiliation of ICE agents to be displayed while interacting with the public.
- Indivisible Actions – Register Here, For the One Million Rising action – register here and watch the first session here. Watch the second session here. Consider hosting a Community Resistance meeting using Indivisible outline and guidelines.
- Keep your calendar open for Labor Day Mass Action September 1st!
- Buy some American Flags for your next Demo; there are lots around from July 4th – Reny’s (“the Maine Shopping Experience”) has bunches.

“I would like to see every single soldier on every single side, just take off your helmet, unbuckle your kit, lay down your rifle, and set down at the side of some shady lane, and say, nope, I aint a gonna kill nobody. Plenty of rich folks wants to fight. Give them the guns.” ~ Woody Guthrie
