| MAINE RISING UP! MAKING GOOD TROUBLE WITH EZRA LEVIN A MAINE INDIVISIBLE FALL KICKOFF EVENT SPECIAL GUEST: EZRA LEVIN, CO-FOUNDER OF INDIVISIBLE |
| TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH, 6:00-8:00 PM DOORS OPEN AT 5:45 FOR GENERAL ADMISSION First Parish Church, 2 Church St., Gorham, ME Join Indivisible groups from across Maine to launch a bold new campaign this fall centered around the principle of non-cooperation / non-compliance—a form of lawful, nonviolent resistance that refuses to enable or normalize authoritarian rule. Joining us will be Ezra Levin, the co-founder and co-executive director of Indivisible who will help us understand why non-cooperation (also referred to as non-compliance) offers an organized, principled way to withdraw our participation from systems that violate our values. Whether it’s refusing to comply with unconstitutional federal orders, rejecting corporate complicity, or defending civil service integrity, our power lies in what we don’t allow. Following Ezra’s presentation the floor will be opened up for questions and answers. You can submit a question In the registration form linked below. Please submit questions about the topic of non-cooperation (aka non-compliance) only. SPECIAL NOTE: Doors to First Parish Church will be open for general admission at 5:45 PM. A special meeting of Maine Indivisible group leaders will be held from 4-5:30 in the church meeting hall. |
